Ms. Carrizales graduated cum laude from Loyola University, New Orleans School of Law, where she served as a member of the Maritime Law Journal. Ms. Carrizales was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and served on the Moot Court staff. His law practice concentrates on the most challenging aspects of doing business in and protecting the vulnerable environment of Louisiana’s working coast. He has represented oil and gas and other industrial companies, real estate developers, financial institutions, ports, levee districts and other public entities, and players in the construction and service industries. Ms. Ransom represents oil and gas companies in legacy litigation in which landowners and public entities allege environmental damage from oil and gas exploration and production operations and often claim damages totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. In particular, she defends clients against claims of land loss and damaged hydrology in wetlands and coastal areas. These cases involve issues relating to federal and state laws and regulations and permits issued under state and federal coastal management laws and regulations such as Louisiana’s State and Local Coastal Resources Management Act and the Clean Water Act.
